Fleet air arm shatter enemy convoy
Picture taken from one of the attacking Barracudas during a Fleet Air Arm strike on a southbound enemy convoy off the coast of Norway. Sighted between Mosjøen and Rørvik, the convoy consisted of a laden transport and two supply ships escorted by an armed trawler. When last seen the transport was burning fiercely an in a sinking condition, and the other three vessels had been set on fire and driven ashore. Picture shows the troopship aground and settling by the stern. Abandon ship ropes and ladders hang over the side, while the armed trawler tries to get alongside to take off survivors, som of whom seen by the pilot of the naval aircraft in the water astern.
